Justin, this is a beautiful and deeply moving account of your story.

I wish you had not selected the title “Deeply Boring” for this site. Your posts are the opposite of boring, much less deeply boring.

I have not read many of your posts. Perhaps you’ve explained this choice elsewhere?

Deborah, thank you so much for the encouragement. You don't know just how much every comment and response gives me the strength to keep writing and finding new ways to talk about things I feel are important.

As with many of my post titles, Deeply Boring is a pun. It is a little self-effacing, but it also alludes to what each of us needs to be doing - to bore deeply beneath the surface of our lives and to struggle with the fears, pains and traumas that live in dark and uncomfortable places.

Deeply Boring now has a companion publication on LinkedIn, Beyond Boring. It alludes to what comes next, the experience of rising together and in support of each other. If you are on LinkedIn, find me "Justin Chan BlackRock" and you can subscribe there. I offer "bracket" posts on Tuesday and Thursday to bring out nuances in my writing (behind the scenes anecdotes, links to similar posts that build on a given theme, etc).

Now that makes me feel much better. I like the pun. Thank you for taking time to explain, Justin.
